2nd training for inspectors of certifying entities in the Integrated Production of Fruit and Vegetable Plants system

On December 17, 2025, the Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute held the second online training for inspectors of certifying entities in the Integrated Fruit and Vegetable Production system. The training was prepared as part of target task 6.3, "Updating and developing integrated pest management, integrated crop production, and signaling device guides," financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The meeting was opened by Prof. Dr. hab. Bożena Matysiak, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at IO-PIB, and Prof. Dr. hab. Mirosława Cieślińska, Head of Target Task 6.3. The substantive part of the meeting presented the most important issues included in integrated production (IP) methodologies for selected plant species, with particular emphasis on mandatory treatments and activities essential for obtaining an Integrated Production certificate. The IP methodology for grapes was discussed by Dr. hab. Jerzy Lisek, prof. IO; for apples by Prof. Dr. hab. Mirosława Cieślińska; for onions by Dr. Agnieszka Włodarek; and for winter squash, butternut squash, and oilseed squash by Dr. hab. Grażyna Soika, prof. IO.

The second training session was held the day after the first training session in the same series and was aimed, among others, at inspectors of certifying entities operating within the Integrated Crop Production system. The training was attended by 340 participants, including representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Agricultural Advisory Centers, Provincial Plant Protection and Seed Inspectorates, Chemical-Agricultural Stations, industry companies, plant producers, and individuals interested in the subject.
