Law basics
The Institute of Horticulture is a research institute established on 1 January 2011 pursuant to the regulation Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development by combining two research and development units with a long tradition and rich research and implementation achievements: Institute of Horticulture and Floriculture named after Szczepan Pieniążek i Emil Chroboczek Institute of Vegetable Crops. Throughout the entire period of its scientific and research and development activities, the Institute of Horticulture is classified in category A (Decision No. 290/KAT/2013 of 23 October 2013, after the assessment for the years 2009-2012 and Decision No. 278/KAT/2017 of 30 November 2017, after the assessment for the years 2013-2016).
By virtue of the regulation of the Council of Ministers of 18 December 2020 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 2342), the Institute of Horticulture based in Skierniewice was granted the status of National Research Institute.
The Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute operates on the basis of the following regulations:
- Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of 16 September 2010 on the merger of the Szczepan Pieniążek Institute of Pomology and Floriculture and the Emil Chroboczek Institute of Vegetable Crops (Journal of Laws No. 172, item 1166)
