PHYTOPATHOLOGY WORKSHOP

diagnoses diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses and phytoplasmas:
- fruit plants (nursery material, fruit trees, berry plants grown on plantations),
- vegetable plants (seedlings and plants grown in the field and under cover),
- ornamental plants (nursery material and plants grown in the field and under cover)
and performs tests of soil intended for cultivation for the presence of pathogens.

SCOPE OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED
- Diagnostics of bacterial, fungal, fungi-like and viral diseases of fruit, vegetable and ornamental plants – detection of pathogens, development of identification methods.
- Pathogen biology – mechanisms of interaction with plants, diversity, taxonomy, genetics, genomics, transcriptomics.
- Detection of forms of pathogens resistant to plant protection products.
- Protection of horticultural plants against diseases – updating and development of plant protection programs, consulting, forecasting the occurrence of diseases, development of new bioproducts to protect plants against diseases.
- Research on the effectiveness of plant protection products, plant growth and development biostimulants, biological and natural products, and fertilizers in limiting plant diseases. These studies are the basis for registering new protection products in Poland and other European countries.
