SCOPE OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED

Cognitive research

Genetic breeding and methodological breeding research for the needs of creative breeding of fruit plants (to develop the most effective breeding methods and programs and the possibility of expanding the existing genetic variability of bred species of berry plants and fruit trees through intra- and inter-specific hybridization).
Research on the possibility of using biotechnological methods, including new genomic techniques in the creative breeding of fruit plants (to increase the efficiency of this breeding through the use of molecular markers, polyploidization, micropropagation, isolation and culture of immature embryos, assessment of pollen viability, assessment of the microbiome, etc.).
Implementation of national and international research projects.

Application-oriented research

Creative breeding of selected species of fruit plants (adaptive, qualitative and resistant breeding).
Application of biotechnological methods in creative breeding of fruit plants (molecular markers, micropropagation of bred genotypes/varieties, isolation and regeneration of embryos, assessment of pollen viability, etc.).
Establishing and conducting demonstration and implementation experiments with newly bred varieties of fruit plants (using innovative cultivation technologies) in order to submit them to the national register of varieties and promote them.
