SCOPE OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED
The Food Safety Research Department (ZBBŻ) performs analyses of plant protection product residues in food, agricultural products and environmental samples (water, soil).
ZBBŻ has been meeting the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 03.08.2006 standard since 17025. The current accreditation certificate issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation is available in the documents to download tab. Since 9 October 2008, ZBBŻ has been a certified research unit operating in accordance with the OECD Good Laboratory Practice (Statement of GLP Compliance) in the scope of: residue testing (analytical part). The current Good Laboratory Practice certificate issued by the Chemicals Office is available in the documents to download tab.
ZBBŻ conducts scientific research and provides services in the field of determining residues of plant protection products for external entities, including:
• food producers and processors;
• food exporters to various EU and other countries (e.g. USA, China, Canada);
• food importers bringing goods to Polish stores (e.g. tea, bananas, raisins, citrus fruits, etc.);
• certification bodies, e.g. organic farms, to confirm the absence of prohibited chemical residues of plant protection products;
• producers of plant protection products for registration purposes at national and EU level in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice.
Since 2002, ZBBŻ has participated in the official monitoring research programme organised by the Chief Inspectorate of Plant Protection and Seed Inspection, within which it examines the residues of plant protection products in agricultural crops.
