SCOPE OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED

  • Assessment of the quality, health, varietal purity and genetic identity of plants propagated by the method in vitro.
  • Development of methods for producing high-quality planting material that is less known or difficult to propagate in traditional ways.
  • Production of tetraploid plants and their phenotypic and genetic evaluation in terms of functional traits.
  • Obtaining doubled haploids (DH lines) by gametic embryogenesis.
  • Study of the mechanisms of resistance of horticultural plants to biotic and abiotic stress factors.
  • Rapid methods for detecting microorganisms of the genus Phytophthora.
  • Anatomical, cytological and cytometric studies in breeding and the use of microscopic techniques in the protection of horticultural plants and the storage of fruit and vegetables.
  • Research on the effect of LED light with different spectral characteristics on the growth, development, metabolism and gene expression of selected horticultural plants.
