Innovative technology for managing blueberry plantations in terms of the suitability of the fruit for mechanical harvesting using a modern full-row combine harvester (TurboBerry)

The aim of the operation is to develop and implement a highly efficient combine harvesting method for blueberries by using the latest plantation technologies and the most technologically advanced methods of diagnosing plant nutrition and adjusting irrigation to the real water needs of plants in order to save water.

As part of the planned operation, development work will be carried out on the development of a technology for the production of highbush blueberries, the effect of which will be an innovative product in the form of blueberry fruit adapted to mechanical harvesting for the dessert market. These activities include, among others, refining the model for forming blueberry bushes, comparing irrigation and fertilization technologies on the plantation, monitoring the climate in crops together with an assessment of its impact on the yield of bushes, comparing the efficiency of irrigation.

The application of the results of the operation will contribute to reducing production costs, replacing manual harvesting of blueberries with mechanical harvesting while maintaining the highest quality of fruit, reducing the consumption of water and fertilizers while taking into account the requirements and principles of environmental protection and natural resources, and introducing an innovative solution for fruit harvesting that frees the grower from the need to organize it.
