TraFooN

The Institute of Horticulture is a member of the international consortium implementing the project “Traditional Food Network to improve the transfer of knowledge for innovation – TraFooN". The consortium consists of 26 partners from Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland. In addition, 9 national Food Technology Platforms (including Poland) and 22 food producer associations cooperate with the consortium. The consortium is coordinated by the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany.

The project is financed by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme. Its aim is to create a pan-European cooperation network between research and development units and traditional food producers, based on the exchange of knowledge and information in the field of technology, quality, marketing, certification and legal regulations. Within the consortium, the Institute of Horticulture from Skierniewice is responsible for coordinating work on traditional products from vegetables and mushrooms.
