Training "Diagnosis of diseases of selected vegetable plant species"

The online training on disease diagnosis of selected vegetable plant species, held on December 9, 2025, was met with great interest from the audience. It was prepared as part of Target Task 10.1, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, entitled "Conducting dissemination activities, cooperation, and knowledge exchange with practitioners within the AKIS system."

The training covered issues related to disease diagnosis in three economically important vegetable species. Dr. Agnieszka Włodarek presented current approaches to diagnosing cabbage diseases, highlighting their diverse symptoms and factors contributing to pathogen development. Dr. Magdalena Ptaszek discussed the diagnosis of selected carrot diseases, emphasizing the practical aspects of their recognition, and Dr. Anna Jarecka-Boncela discussed fungal diseases of onions, highlighting the challenges most producers face.

Approximately 400 people participated in the training. Among the participants were representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service, the Central Research Center for Cultivar Testing, Agricultural Advisory Centers, Chemical-Agricultural Stations, certification and inspection bodies, and other public institutions related to agriculture, as well as universities, research institutes, industry companies, and, above all, vegetable producers.
