On December 10, 2025, an online training session titled "Fertilization in Horticulture (Fruit, Vegetable, Floriculture) Including Fertigation – Only in the Scope of Innovation" was held. It was implemented as part of Target Task 4.1 financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MRiRW). A team of experts from the Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute (PIB): Dr. Jacek Nowak, Dr. hab. Jadwiga Treder, prof. IO, and Dr. Waldemar Kowalczyk were responsible for the substantive development of the meeting, dedicated to employees of the Chemical-Agricultural Stations.
The training focused on modern solutions for fertilization and fertigation in horticultural crops, including fruit, vegetable, and floriculture. Participants were introduced to the importance of fertigation as one of the most effective methods of nutrient delivery. It was emphasized that properly conducted fertigation allows for precise control of nutrient doses, reduces nutrient losses, and improves water use efficiency. The use of the wireless AGREUS system as a tool for monitoring and optimizing irrigation and fertilization was also discussed. An online platform for supporting irrigation decision-making was presented, and monitoring nutrient and substrate parameters using various moisture and salinity sensors and probes, as well as various meters for assessing plant quality and nutritional status, was discussed. The meeting was attended by staff from district Chemical-Agricultural Stations from across Poland and representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
