Skierniewice, December 5, 2025
On December 5, 2025, an in-person training course entitled "Prospective Varieties of Fruit Plants Recommended for Integrated and Organic Cultivation" was held at the Institute of Horticulture - National Research Institute in Skierniewice. It was organized as part of the implementation of target task 10.1 "Conducting dissemination activities, cooperation, and knowledge exchange with practice within the AKIS system," financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Participants learned about varieties bred at the Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute, which are recommended for integrated and organic farming. During the meeting, characteristics of old apple varieties and promising sour cherry, sweet cherry, and plum varieties were presented. Selected berry varieties were also given significant attention. The training helped participants gain practical knowledge on what to consider when selecting varieties for orchard establishment, especially those managed organically.
