Training "Application and practical use of nursery methodologies developed in 2025"

Skierniewice, December 23, 2025

On December 23, 2025, an online training entitled "Application and practical use of nursery methodologies developed in 2025" was held, organized by the Institute of Horticulture - National Research Institute, implemented as part of target task 3.12
“Development and updating of methodologies for the evaluation of nursery material”, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The training was primarily aimed at employees of the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service (PIORiN) and producers of nursery stock for fruit plants, but also at anyone interested in current sampling and laboratory evaluation methods. During the meeting, the scope of work on developing and updating sampling and laboratory evaluation methodologies for nursery stock for official certifiers and suppliers of fruit plant starting material in 2025 was presented.

The practical application of the methodologies in detecting selected viruses and fungal pathogens, such as tobacco ringspot virus (Tobacco ringspot virus, TRSV), tomato ringspot virus (Tomato ringspot nepovirus, ToRSV) and fungus Pucciniastrum minimum, in various plant species, including highbush blueberries, cranberries, apples, almonds, plums, Japanese plums, cherries, sour cherries, apricots, raspberries, and blackberries. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring high-quality orchards and berry plantations, where the selection of qualified nursery stock is crucial.
