Education and dissemination of research results
An important form of the Institute's activity is the dissemination of research results by organizing numerous educational events.
These include conferences, symposia, training, direct counselling, organisation of Open Door Days, workshops and exhibitions, publishing scientific journals, activities of a scientific library, creation and maintenance of databases for the needs of horticultural science and practice, and development of implementation offers.
Instytut Ogrodnictwa – PIB (The National Institute of Horticultural Research) is the publisher of 3 scientific journals: Journal of Apicultural Science, Journal of Horticultural Research, which are on the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Scientific Journals of the Institute of Horticulture, which are currently not on the list.
These journals publish original scientific papers and review articles on topics related to broadly understood issues related to horticulture and beekeeping. In 2011, the Journal of Apicultural Science was included in the Journal Citation Reports database of the Philadelphia-based Thomson Reuters Institute, which attests to its rank in the international community.
In addition, the Institute publishes several dozen guides, research reports, methodologies, instructions, atlases and conference materials each year, which are not included in official publication lists.
